The Importance of Institutional Adjustment for Parole
Institutional adjustment is an important part of any good parole argument. If the client has any disciplinary cases, Paul Hampel pulls the disciplinary case records in the parole file and reviews the summaries as well as his client’s description. With this information he can provide context or understanding for what actually happened in the case or why the case is not as serious as the case title suggests. He also can minimize the harm of a case by showing an overall good disciplinary record or a recent maturity or improvement in the record. Moreover, Mr. Hampel tries to emphasize the positive elements of every client’s institutional adjustment by showing educational and job achievements as well as overall program participation.
